Chapter 4 Each year the potential radiological dose to the public that is attributable to operations and effluents from the West Valley Demonstration Project (the WVDP or Project) is assessed to verify that no individual could possibly have received a dose exceeding the limits established by the regulatory agencies. The results of these conservative dose calculations demonstrate that the potential maximum dose to an off-site resident was well below permissible standards and was consistent with the as-low-as-reasonably achievable (ALARA) philosophy of radiation protection.
